MIST MONGOL BAROTA” Secured 2nd position (Runner up) in ARC 2024, Turkiye
‘MIST Mongol Barota’ achieved an outstanding 2nd position in the highly competitive Anatolian Rover Challenge (ARC) 2024, which took place at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkiye, from 17th to 21st July 2024. The event was organized by the Space Exploration Society (UKET), Turkiye. His Excellency M. Amanul Haq, the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Turkiye, graced the occasion by his presence to celebrate our noteworthy achievement.
A total of 21 teams have participated from different countries including Poland, India, Turkiye, and Bangladesh. More than 200 participants attended the final competition. Each team had to perform four missions where the scenarios created as Mars field, moon field, and Earth hall.
Representing our institution, "MIST Mongol Barota" was comprised of nine members. The team members hailed from the CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) and ME (Mechanical Engineering) departments, with individuals named Lt Md Sarower Morshed, Md. Jawadur Rahman and Istiaque Ahmed Arik from CSE Dept; and Alamin Rashid Tarek and Ahmed Ahnaf Saqafi from ME Dept. The team was under the guidance of Lt Col Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Maj Md Shawkat Ali and Lec Shah Md Ahasan Siddique.
The team is grateful for the wholehearted support, continuous insightful guidance and encouragement from Respected Commandant Maj Gen Mohammed Saidul Islam, rcds, ndc, psc, of MIST, who served as the Chief Patron for the "MIST Mongol Barota" team. Additionally, they received invaluable guidance from Brig Gen Mohammad Sajjad Hossain, Head of CSE dept as the Advisor of the team. The team also acknowledged the support and guidance received from each wing and dept head especially to the Head of ME and EECE Dept.
